Plans in for 17-storey student tower
Plans have been submitted for a 17-storey tower in Plymouth city centre which could provide accommodation for more than 250 students.Burrington Estates (Aspire Student Living), via agent Expedite Design Services, has submitted a full-planning application for a development on the site of the former good Companions Pub and Vibes Record Store on Mayflower Street.It is proposing to demolish the existing buildings at 1-3 Mayflower Street to make way for a 17-storey tower comprising 253 student bedrooms in a mix of cluster flats and studios.In addition to the student housing, facilities including a lounge, food service, cinema, laundry and gymnasium would be provided.The plans also include 5,300 sq ft of retail space on the ground floor and 4,100 sq ft of office accommodation.
