Plans in for £45m Salford Quays apartment scheme
A £45m apartment scheme rising 34 storeys high could soon be built in Salford Quays under newly submitted plans.Acting on behalf of developer Forshaw Land and Property Group, Lichfields has submitted a planning application to create 216 apartments, a ground-floor commercial unit, a residents’ gym, a community room, landscaped areas, a pocket park, a roof terrace, and car and cycle parking at Clippers Quays. The SimpsonHaugh-designed scheme features 54 one-bedroom, 152 two-bedroom and ten three-bedroom apartments.If approved, it would result in the demolition of the existing serviced office space on the 12.4-acre site.Nathan Matta, planning director at Lichfields, said that the development has the potential to support approximately 400 temporary and full-time jobs during and beyond the two-year construction period.
