Plans in for Broadmead redevelopment
Plans have been lodged for the redevelopment of the Broadmead shopping district in Bristol including a range of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, leisure and open spaces.Developer Bristol Alliance, which owns the neighbouring Cabot Circus, has also revealed images of how the new development could look.The company is proposing the demolition of existing buildings and structures and a new mixed-use scheme on land at and adjoining Callowhill Court, Broadmead/The Horsefair.This would comprise up to 1.1 million sq ft of retail, commercial, leisure and hospitality floorspace together with up to 150 residential units, access, landscaping, public realm works and other associated ancillary works.The Podium, arguably the most recognisable landmark in quarter, will be retained as a feature in the transformed centre.
