Plans in for latest phase of Victoria North
Plans for the latest phase of the major Victoria North scheme have been submitted.Manchester City Council and Far East Consortium (FEC) are behind the application, which proposes 30 homes for social rent as part of wider regeneration plans in the Collyhurst area.This would include 14 three-bedroom homes, four three-bedroom duplex apartments, one two-bedroom duplex apartment and 11 two-bedroom apartments.These would be in addition to the 244 properties currently being considered for approval by the planning authority.The Collyhurst Village masterplan also includes almost 2,000 sq ft of neighbourhood-focused commercial and retail space as the joint venture partnership looks to improve community assets and provide new inclusive public realm spaces for residents.The £4bn Victoria North project – formerly known as the Northern Gateway –will bring forward up to 15,000 homes while rejuvenating disused land over the next 15 years.
