Fresh plans to transform a vacant office building in Birmingham, which had once been lined up to become a boutique hotel in a project backed by Premier League and Olympic sports stars, have been revealed. The proposals would see 190 self-contained serviced apartments created in Beneficial House in Paradise Street.Colico Living is behind the new application for the seven-storey building which was constructed in the early 1960s and has been vacant for about five years. The plans come after approval was granted in February 2018 to transform the building into a 130-room boutique hotel. The applicant for that scheme, Beneficial House (Birmingham) Regeneration, had 95 members listed on Companies House at the time including Manchester City star Sergio Aguero, Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and five-time Olympic rowing champion Sir Steve Redgrave.
