Plans in for Sutton Coldfield retirement community
Plans have been submitted for a Sutton Coldfield retirement community intending to provide almost 140 homes.The development will be the sixth to be brought forward as part of the partnership between Anchor, a not-for-profit provider of specialist housing and care, and McCarthy Stone, a developer and manager of retirement communities.Proposals, located in the town centre on the former Royal Works site, would provide a total of 137 apartments, including 52 one- and two-bed retirement living units and 85 one- and two-bed assisted living units.The McCarthy Stone retirement living building would include a communal homeowner’s lounge, guest suite, reception area, refuse store and mobility scooter storeroom with charging points.Meanwhile, the Anchor assisted living facility is expected to feature a restaurant/bistro, shared kitchen, residents’ lounge, hair and beauty salons, quiet and multi-use rooms and guest suite.
