Plans in for university building that would support 675 jobs
Plans have been submitted for a new six-storey research and education building at the University of Exeter.Hopkins Architects Partnership LLP has put together designs for the scheme which incorporates a new 400-set auditorium, seminar rooms, labs, research space and other amenities.The application form submitted by the University of Exeter said that about 675 jobs will be supported if the project goes ahead.A development consisting of 1,182 student beds is currently being built on the field to the east of the site.Office space in the proposed development will predominantly be used by the university’s research institutes.A workshop, computer labs, a study centre, research laboratories, meeting rooms and a restaurant are also planned.
