Plans lodged for £120m Birmingham development

Plans have been lodged for a £120m development aiming to redevelop a site in Birmingham to provide new residential and commercial uses.Solihull-based developer BPG has earmarked a site on Gooch Street North for the construction of an 11-storey building.The 2.5 brownfield acre site, known as Oasis Southside, sits within Birmingham’s Chinatown and Theatreland.Plans to redevelop the site include the provision of 456 residential units and 5,500 sq ft of ground floor commercial space.Residents of the development will benefit from a landscaped courtyard at ground level, and a private 7,000 sq ft rooftop terrace.A new pedestrian street to the south of the development has also been proposed.Global property consultancy Knight Frank has been advising BPG throughout the process.Pennycuick Collins advised the land owner The Gooch Estate.
