Plans lodged for grade A office and 40-storey tower
Plans have been lodged for a 240,000 sq ft grade A office building and a 40-storey residential tower on the site of the former Bauer Millett showroom in the heart of Manchester city centre.Property developer Ask has submitted a full planning application to Manchester City Council to create the 14-storey office building offering 240,000 sq ft of net lettable space, a 40-storey tower with 375 apartments, and ground-floor commercial space next to Manchester Central.New large areas of public realm are also envisaged, including a new route and vertical circulation linking Deansgate-Castlefield Metrolink stop and Deansgate rail station to the city centre via Watson Street.Ask Real Estate has been working with architect Ian Simpson of SimpsonHaugh on the mixed-use scheme, which is known as Found Space.The Bauer Millet regeneration scheme was first unveiled last month at MIPIM, the world’s largest property conference.
