Plans lodged for housing and apartment scheme

Plans have been lodged for the construction of almost 150 new houses and an apartment block on a site of a previously-demolished residential site in Sheffield.Foxden Land Developments, supported by Nicol Thomas, has submitted an application to Sheffield City Council for a development at Fox Hill Crescent.The site is located four miles from Sheffield city centre and was previously occupied by a residential site, prior to the demolition of the houses and flats between 2000 and 2004.Planning permission is sought for 146 new houses, with a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom properties, as well as a three-storey block featuring two-bedroom apartments.A design and access statement submitted with the plans said the development represents a “well-balanced proposal with sufficient housing to meet the community’s need and for the site to be economically viable”.It added that, following consultation with the council’s planning department, the scheme has been revised to reduce the scale and impact of the three storey apartments in relation to surrounding properties.
