Plans lodged for housing in South Yorkshire village
Plans have been submitted for a new housing development in a South Yorkshire village.Yorkshire home builder Ben Bailey Homes – part of the Conroy Brook group – has agreed a deal with the Wentworth Estate to buy a site in of Upper Haugh.Subject to planning approval by Rotherham councillors, up to 23 properties will be constructed on the site.Upper Haugh was originally a collection of labourers’ cottages constructed to house the influx of miners working at the nearby New Stubbin Colliery, one of the network of pits owned by Earl Fitzwilliam of Wentworth Woodhouse.
