Plans lodged for retail development on service station site
Plans have been lodged for the development of a number of retail units on the land of an existing service station in Newry.Eurospar, which operates a supermarket on the Mulkerns Service Station site, is seeking the go-ahead for the demolition and replacement of an existing hot food bar and dentist, along with the construction of a new indoor play unit and restaurant.The replacement of the dentist and hot food bar is proposed in order to create additional parking near the entrance of Eurospar supermarket.A new travel agency, opticians and craft shop will also be provided adjacent to the store.The site extends to approximately 3.7 acres and includes a number of fuel pumps and two retail units not associated with Eurospar.
