Plans reveal further Stoke hotel details
A planning application has been lodged by a world-famous hotel brand to construct a 140-room venue in Stoke, unveiling further details and designs of the scheme.Hilton revealed it would build a Hilton Garden Inn hotel at the city’s Smithfield development in March after striking a franchise deal with developer Genr8.The hotel will create 50 jobs and is expected to bolster Stoke’s bid for UK Capital of Culture 2021.New documents filed with Stoke-on-Trent City Council revealed that as well as rooms, the venue will hope to attract non-resident custom with a bar. It will also include a restaurant, conference facilities and a gym.The development will have a total gross internal area of almost 78,200 sq ft.Subject to planning approval, Hilton said the Garden Inn could welcome its first guests by 2019.
