Plans revealed for job-creating manufacturing park
Plans have been unveiled for a new logistics and manufacturing park at a North East airport.The development would be built on the 270-acres of land on the south side of Teesside International Airport and would involve 3.4 million sq ft of logistic, manufacturing and commercial space being built, providing opportunities for more than £200m of inward investment, as well as the creation of 4,400 jobs. If the plans are given the green on Friday 20 December, an initial £23.6m investment will be made in the airport to deliver the infrastructure and road required to unlock the land for the new development.The rescue plan includes commitments to increase passenger numbers to 1.4 million, secure a low-cost carrier by 2022 and drive the creation of thousands of new jobs.
