Plans revealed for major mixed-use scheme in Cardiff
Plans have been revealed for major mixed-use scheme featuring more than 430 new homes and new retail space in Cardiff.A joint venture between Angelo Gordon and Ridgeback is seeking the go-ahead for the major new scheme, located at Anchor Industrial Estate on Dumballs Road.The development consists of 432 apartments arranged in two buildings, situated around a central garden and plaza. Block one will rise to 15 storeys and holds 240 flats, while block two rises to nine storeys and holds 192 flats.Up to 105 upper floor units have balconies and terraces, with the developer also proposing two roof gardens for common use.If approved by Cardiff City Council, the scheme will also include a private gym, resident lounges, one commercial coffee shop, one homeworking/social area and two commercial units for rent and sale.Additionally, the applicant intends to provide two separate car park areas which contain 31 and 41 spaces respectively, with three disabled spaces in each.The site contains a mixture of 1960/1970 industrial buildings and yard space. A portion of the site to the north has been subject to demolition and has been cleared.
