Plans revealed for more than 300 homes across three locations
Plans revealed for more than 300 homes across three locationsHull City Council has outlined early stage plans for new affordable housing developments, with the aim of building at least 324 homes. These properties are intended for the sites of Boothferry Flats – which includes the Torpoint Drive, Millport Drive and Woolwich Drive tower blocks – Henson Villas in Pearson Park, and Selworthy Close, which is a brownfield site between Minehead and Holwell Roads.Approximate figures for the planned housing includes 144 homes at Boothferry Flats, 30 at Henson Villas and 150 at Selworthy Close. The council is working with consultant AR Urbanism to develop its plans. It says the project would make a significant contribution to bridging the social housing shortfall.Councillor Paul Drake-Davis, the council’s portfolio holder for regeneration and housing, said: “These three sites offer a landmark opportunity to build new communities with modern, well designed, energy efficient, and quality homes set in attractive environmentally friendly, surroundings.“The site proposals are at an early stage and it’s important that we get feedback from people who live in the locality because we want to ensure the new developments reflect their needs and aspirations.”Hull City Council has arranged three drop-in sessions for residents to see the early feasibility work for the planned homes.
