Plans revealed for more than 550 Nottinghamshire homes

Plans have been revealed for the development of more than 550 residential properties on council-owned land in Nottinghamshire.Nottinghamshire County Council is proposing to bring forward planning applications for approximately 235 homes on land south of Cauldwell Road, Berry Hill, Mansfield, and approximately 320 homes on land east of Sutton Parkway, Kirkby-in-Ashfield.Funding has been secured from Homes England as part of the Local Authority Accelerated Construction Fund to help bring the sites forward for development and provide the necessary infrastructure.In addition to the new homes, which include affordable housing, the proposals would provide a range of facilities for residents. These include children’s play areas, a potential community garden/orchard, as well as improved pedestrian and cycle links with the surrounding area. A public consultation on the proposals is also set to launch.
