Plans revealed for new Govan-Partick bridge after council gives green light
Plans have been revealed for a new bridge which will change the face of Glasgow’s waterfront.As reported on Glasgow Live , the Water Row Masterplan was considered by Glasgow City Council’s Neighbourhood, Housing and Public Realm Committee. They gave the green light to the £56.85 million plan to revitalise Govan and the River Clyde waterfront, which includes the creation of the new bridge to re-establish historical connections between the communities.Now that ground investigation works at the earmarked site are complete, and the final design is getting finishing touches, a planning application is expected to be submitted by the summer.The work will then be tendered around the end of the year, with the actual construction set to begin around spring 2020, and expected to finish by summer 2021.
