Plans revealed for next phase of Guildhall regeneration
More details have been released about the second phase of the huge Guildhall redevelopment in Nottingham city centre.Following on from plans for a hotel on the south of a site, developer Miller Birch has released plans to build two student accommodation blocks of up to 14 storeys housing around 1,215 beds, along with a 2,500 sq ft retail unit and 6,500 sq ft office suite in the former fire and police station buildings.Guildhall Place North planning application will be submitted in Spring of 2021 with an anticipated planning approval in Summer 2021 with the scheme being delivered for the start of the 2024/25 academic year.A public consultation on the proposals for Guildhall Place North will be held in the spring of 2021 before the planning application is submitted.The move follows planning permission being granted for the first phase of the scheme,a four-star, 162-bed hotel to be run by a joint venture between Locksley Hotels and Ascena. The hotel will include a rooftop fine dining restaurant, spa and wedding and conference facilities.
