Plans revealed for Thames Estuary superhub

Plans to transform the former Coryton Oil Refinery into a superhub – comprising five million sq ft of commercial development in the Thames Estuary – have been submitted.Thames Enterprise Park, a joint venture between Greenergy and iSec, is behind the outline application. It has been designed to be one of the largest regeneration schemes in Northern Europe and is expected to create up to 4,500 jobs.The largest part would be a dedicated food hub bringing together processing, packaging, storage and distribution. A range of super-warehouses are also proposed, alongside a sustainable industries hub and an amenity hub.Greenergy and iSec bring complementary experience to the project, with the former having provided expertise in advanced biofuels through Thames Oilport and the latter having a track record in large-scale, complex industrial property developments.
