Plans submitted for 24 new homes at Rosyth brownfield siteThe developer hopes to build 18 houses and six flats.The brownfield site is located across from the junction with Mcgrigor Road and just to the north-east of the Church of St Columba.The site now consists of concrete and hardstandings from previous use as temporary housing in connection with the Queensferry Crossing and Royal Dockyard.The firm has submitted a PPP to the council, which gives it notice of how developers plan to consult and engage the community about the proposals.But, the proposals include the required 25% affordable housing (six units) as set out by the council, and developers have planned to create 58 off-street parking spaces for residents.According to the firm, each home will have its own private garden space to the rear. The development will include communal open space and a playpark, the Courier reports.The planning statement reads: “The proposed development will make a valuable contribution to the surrounding area through the reuse and enhancement of an unused, vacant brownfield site.“The proposed development has been designed to ensure that it is suitably scaled, sited and designed to be in keeping with the surrounding residential environment and to improve the visual amenity from Castle Road.”
