Plans submitted for 750-home development
More than 750 homes could be built on land at Kingsbridge in Swansea if newly-submitted plans are given the green light.Housebuilder Persimmon, via agent Geraint John Planning, has lodged a hybrid application with Swansea Council for a site at Bryngwyn Fields.The scheme would comprise up to 750 residential properties, a new primary school and retail space.Public open space, including parks and outdoor sports facilities would also be created. Affordable housing is also set to be incorporated.The scheme will be built in three to four phases and Persimmon has previously suggested that the new school would be developed in the early stages of work.In total, the development is expected to support the creation of about 2,000 jobs.The application site comprises 123.5 acres of agricultural land adjacent to the garden village of Gorseinon. It is allocated for residential development in the Swansea local development plan (LDP).The application has been submitted following consultation with the councillors, the general public and other stakeholders.
