Plans submitted for new £8m County Durham housing development
Plans for a new £8m affordable housing development in County Durham have been submitted for approval.Proposals for 59 new two, three and four bedroomed homes and bungalows in Peterlee will be considered by Durham County Council planning department in the coming weeks. A green light for the plans could involve United Living Group creating dozens of local construction jobs as well as those in the supply chain. The move will also boost the regional housing stock, including the availability of more affordable properties. The development could also plug a gap in the local market for more energy efficient homes of a size that meets the Nationally Described Space Standards. The homes are designed by Newcastle-based Ergo Projects, and if the plans go ahead onside work is expected to start in 2022 with the first release of homes due to be completed by Christmas 2022.
