Plans unveiled for new harbourside apartments
Plans have been revealed for a new apartment building fronting Plymouth’s historic harbour.Sutton Harbour Holdings’ proposal is for a currently-empty site between the Pinnacle Quay residential and Salt Quay House office buildings.Harbour Arch Quay will be a nine-storey mixed-use development created on Sutton Harbour’s North East Quay, and of a similar height to existing adjacent properties.It will comprise 14 residential apartments on the upper floors, along with a ground floor commercial unit, which could be used as a shop, cafe, restaurant or gym.The site, formerly known as Horsewash House, was earmarked for regeneration in the Sutton Harbour Area Action Plan in 2008 and features in the Sutton Harbour Vision published in 2014, which outlined the company’s aspirations to continue regenerating Plymouth’s prime waterfront district in line with current planning policy.Sutton Harbour Holdings is currently preparing to submit a detailed planning application for the Harbour Arch Quay scheme to Plymouth City Council.Last month Sutton Harbour Holdings agreed a deal to sell a 70 per cent stake in the business, valued at £19.9m, to FB Investors Executive Committee.
