Plans unveiled to construct 150 homes in Somerset – South West
A proposal to construct over 100 homes on fields located on the outskirts of Nailsea has been presented to planners.Developer Vistry Group has submitted an initial application to North Somerset Council for the construction of 150 homes on a 10-hectare site situated on the north western outskirts of the town, north of Hanham Way.The proposed development includes a variety of homes, ranging from one to four bedrooms, with some structures reaching three stories in height. As part of the plan, 30 per cent of the new homes are designated as affordable housing. This particular site is part of a larger area on the north western outskirts of the town, already designated for 450 homes and new industrial units in the North Somerset Local Plan blueprint. The broader plan encompasses the creation of a new spine road through the site and the undergrounding of the 132v power line.A representative from the Vistry Group said: “The suggested residential development is intended to contribute to the council’s housing land trajectory, strengthening the council’s housing land supply for the current planning period. It offers possibilities for a diverse housing mix, addressing local requirements.”The North Somerset Council will determine the application, and if approved, a detailed application will follow.
