Pobl plots Swansea affordable homes
Housing provider Pobl has lodged plans for more than 30 affordable homes on agricultural land in Swansea. The registered social landlord has submitted an application to Swansea Council to build 31 properties on a site east of Clordir Road in the village of Pontlliw.Proposed is a mix of houses, bungalows and apartments ranging from one to four bedrooms. Also included is a vehicular access to the development via a priority junction with Clordir Road.A total of 51 parking spaces are provided for future occupiers of the proposed development.Children’s play space and informal amenity space would also be provided.A design and access statement prepared by The Urbanists on behalf of the applicant said the vision is to “create people-focused place with landscape design at its very heart”.It added that the central village location, steps from the local primary school and a countryside views, offers the opportunity for “attractive, affordable homes” in perpetuity to an area of Swansea with the highest need, while offering new public open spaces, and a sensitive and robust new edge to the village.
