A proposal of application notice has been submitted to Perth & Kinross Council for a new development which would expand the boundaries of Perth west of the A9 at the Broxden roundabout.Built alongside an “innovation highway” to help reduce Perth’s carbon output, the Perth West project will deliver houses, retail outlets, a hotel, community and health facilities, education and business centres. The organisation behind the project is the John Dewar Lamberkin Trust. It is understood that the development will host a hydrogen refuelling station as well as a test location for self-driving cars, The Courier reports. The John Dewar Lamberkin Trust also wants to utilise solar power, new heat pump technology and a biomass facility to provide energy to thousands of local homes. The project is expected to create around 1,000 jobs and contribute £20 million to the Tayside economy for the next 25 years.A public exhibition will be held at the Leonardo Hotel on Crieff Road between 2pm and 8pm on Thursday February 6th.The Trust said it will also attempt to hold meetings with Methven Community Council and Earn Community Council during January and February.
