Proposals submitted for final phase of Islington Wharf

Plans for the final phase of Islington Wharf have been submitted, with the application proposing two towers of 11 and 16 storeys.Waterside Places – a joint venture between Muse Developments and Canal & River – is behind the application, which concerns a site bound by Great Ancoats Street and Old Mill Street. Ryder Architecture is working on the project, alongside Savills, Buro Four, Rider Levett Bucknall, Hydrock, Hannan Associates and Design Fire Consultants.The surrounding area has been the subject of recent regeneration and is now largely residential in nature, including the previous three phases of development at Islington Wharf.The first comprises 199 apartments, the second includes 46 homes and the third is made up of 101 flats. The trio total 346.Proposed for the fourth phase is a steeped building of 11 and 16 storeys housing 33 one-bedroom and 73 two-bedroom apartments.Ground floor commercial uses have also been lined up, as has a 19-space car park.The application is with Manchester City Council.
