Proposals submitted for village residential scheme
Proposals have been submitted for a prominent residential scheme in a Derbyshire village.Bolsover District Council is seeking the go-ahead to redevelopland at Woburn Close in Blackwell. The site comprises an existing development of bungalows, a community centre and an existing assisted living building, which would be demolished as part of the project.Plans comprise 22 dwellings, including one- and two-bed bungalows and three- and four-bed houses. These homes would be accompanied by a new community centre of about 5,100 sq ft, as well as an independent living facility consisting of 20 one- and two-bed flats. All dwellings will be social housing, owned and operated by Bolsover District Council.A statement filed on behalf of the applicant said: “This scheme is part of the council’s Bolsover Homes project, which is aimed at building new council houses for affordable rents across the district.”The scheme more efficiently uses the council’s land by replacing end of life, unfit for purpose dwellings. The proposed new homes exceed today’s standard whilst benefiting the district’s economy through training, skills development and local supply chain.”
