Redrow homes plan lined up for approval
Detailed plans by Redrow for homes in Cheshire are due to be approved when planners meet next week. The housebuilder is seeking detailed consent via “reserved matters” approval for 454 homes and the associated infrastructure and open space on land off Giantswood Lane and Manchester Road, Congleton.The reserved matters application seeks approval of appearance, landscaping, layout and scale.The application relates to a 63.5 acre site on the northern side of Congleton. The plot currently consists of two agricultural fields, last used for crop growing.Outline proposals with all matters reserved except for means of access for a development comprising up to 500 homes has already been secured.A new primary school and shopping facility, together with associated open space, green infrastructure, pedestrian and cycle links, were also proposed.Cheshire East planning officers have now recommended the latest application for approval with conditions.The council’s strategic planning board meets next Wednesday (2 February).
