Regenda 300-homes scheme hopes for success
Social housing provider Regenda’s scheme for more than 300 homes in Liverpool has been tipped for approval. The Liverpool-headquartered housing business is seeking permission from Liverpool City Council for land at Grove Street. The site comprises the Grove Street Estate, which comprises almost entirely socially rented properties. It is owned by Liverpool City Council but leased to The Regenda Group, which currently manages and maintains the properties. The buildings on site comprise three-storey flat blocks containing a total of 146 one and two bedroom apartments, 144 of which are socially rented. If approval is granted on 22 March, 304 residential units will be created, including the reprovision of all 144 existing socially rented homes on the site. These will be demolished to make way for six buildings ranging from three and nine storeys to house the new homes. The proposed tenure mix across the masterplan is 144 social rent apartments, three affordable rent, 84 rent to buy, 50 PRS (market) apartments and 23 private sale.Flexible commercial space of 3,961 sq ft is also proposed.A council document published ahead of a meeting of Liverpool City Council’s planning committee recommends approving the scheme subject to a legal agreement.
