Renfrewshire parks set for £135,000 investment

OVER £135,000 is set to be invested in projects aiming to ‘upgrade the infrastructure’ in parks across Renfrewshire.The investment will come from Renfrewshire Council’s £1.87 million green spaces, parks, play areas and villages investment fund.Sandyflats Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) has been awarded £50,000 to ‘radically’ redesign their local playpark to create more inclusive equipment for children of all ages.Spateston TARA also received £50,000, with their funds going towards an update to their local play park with the creation of a community hub and gardens.Bridge of Weir Community Council has been allocated £12,000 for the build of a new playhouse at Horsewood Road Park, while Frends of Knockhill Park have funds for their upgrade to the park’s main paths.£13,645 has already been granted to four further projects, which include a feasibility study for bowling green improvements at Lochfield Park, a gardening project within Fountain Gardens in Paisley, a new pond at Brediland Allotments and Corseford TARA will paint the entrances to a ‘well-used’ local underpass.
