Residential development plans unveiled

A new build-to-rent residential development at Parrs Wood in East Didsbury has been unveiled. The proposed site is located on a currently underutilised section of the car park at the Parrs Wood Tesco Superstore.It is in between the A34 Kingsway, Parrs Wood Lane and the Styal Railway Line.Dandara Living is launching a public consultation to gather feedback on proposals for Blackbird Yard which will be the latest addition to its portfolio.Around 95 new homes will be provided in a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments. All of the new homes will be available to rent on long term assured tenancies and managed by Dandara Living.They have also committed to provide 20 per cent affordable housing within the scheme.Designed by Manchester architects Hodder and Partners, the proposed building will be seven storeys in height and arranged in an L-shape. The scheme includes a flexible community space on the ground floor, with the opportunity for bookable spaces for community events.Landscaping and additional tree planting around the edge of the development will soften the boundaries of the site and encourage biodiversity.Following the consultation period, the proposals will be finalised and a planning application will be submitted to Manchester City Council.
