Residential scheme set for green light

Outline plans for a residential scheme of up to 40 dwellings on the site of a former landfill in Leicestershire have been recommended for approval.Located on the eastern approach into the village of Bottesford from the A52, the land in question extends to approximately 3.6 acres.Davidson Homes and a Mr McNulty are seeking outline permission for the development alongside the associated access.The application was deferred from a meeting in May to accommodate a further site visit, while the applicant has responded to concerns raised regarding contamination.According to a report to be studied by councillors at Melton Borough Council next week, the development of housing at a sustainable location outweighs concerns raised in representations, particularly the development of the site from its green field state and the impact on the character of the rural village.The outline application is recommended for conditional approval.
