Revised plans for major flats scheme published
More than 150 apartments could be constructed in Leicester city centre after revised plans were published.Applicant Toscafield Leicester first submitted proposals for a 13-storey building in land at the junction of Vaughan Way and St Margaret’s Way in May 2018 which have since been revised to a 11 and 15-storey property with 151 flats.If approved by Leicester City Council, a total of 61 one-bed, 80 two-bed and ten three-bed will be created with a further nine set aside for rental.The scheme has been designed by Franklin Ellis Architects and would also include a gym and a cinema.The main frontage is currently vacant land which was previously occupied by a five-storey 1960s commercial building which was demolished in 2004The council is expected to make a final decision on the application in the coming months.
