Revised plans in for Birmingham apartment tower
Revised plans have been lodged for a 30-storey apartment tower aiming to provide almost 170 residential units in Birmingham city centre.Essex St (Properties) is seeking the go-ahead to construct the property on the corner of Essex Street and Bristol Street.Plans comprise 166 properties, including one- and two-bedroom apartments and a three-bedroom penthouse apartment.At ground and mezzanine level, a commercial unit extending to approximately 2,500 sq ft would be provided.The scheme also includes ancillary amenity space for residents, such as a multimedia room/gym and a roof garden which would feature areas of seating and allow for a cinema space.Approval was secured for a 28-storey tower of 154 apartments in December 2020. However, Essex St (Properties) decided to review the proposals.
