The current contract for Road transport services in Lerwick is projected to end on 27/5/2018 and may be available for re-tender.The current contract for Road transport services in Lerwick included the provision of road passenger transport services within the Shetland Islands. The framework agreement will have an Agreement Period of 4 years. The anticipated start date is February 2014. A range of services will be covered in the framework, including: local bus and community transport services for members of the public; transport between home and school and other educational establishments for pupils and students, including those with additional support needs; transport to meet social work, healthcare and welfare functions; other miscellaneous passenger transport services including short notice and one-off requirements.The services will be delivered using a mix of vehicle types and sizes; accessible vehicles may be required; passenger assistants may need to be provided on some services. The framework consists of different categories of transport provision in the form of Lots. Candidates will be able to bid for a place as a supplier on one or more Lots.Contracts under this framework will normally be awarded using ‘mini-competitions’.There is no guarantee that contracts will be awarded under this framework, or of the volume or value of contracts that may be awarded.
