Scarborough later living development moves forward
Work is set to start on an 84-home later living development in Scarborough following approval.The Sandcastles development will include a mix of energy efficient two- and three-bedroom bungalows, cottage apartments, chalet bungalows and houses. The homes will be available exclusively for those aged 55 and above.Designed by Later Living by Lovell and Langtry Langton Architects, the 7.85-acre development, located in Middle Deepdale, Scarborough will be constructed by Lovell Partnerships.Building work is set to begin in August 2022 with the first homes expected to be ready to move into in spring 2023.Paula Broadbent, managing director at Lovell Later Living, said: “We are thrilled to have received planning approval for the Sandcastles development in Middle Deepdale. There is real demand in the region for housing designed for later living and the properties we are developing will offer choice and adaptability so that our customers can create and curate their home to live the way they really want in their later years.”Decades of experience and insight have gone into the design of this new development and by offering a diverse mix of home types we are hoping to build and foster a real community within the Middle Deepdale community at Sandcastles.”
