Second site to be considered for Bristol Arena
An alternative site for a new arena space for Bristol is to be considered by the council’s cabinet.Pre-construction work on the new Bristol Arena in the Temple Quarter was paused in November while the city council commissioned a value-for-money study from KPMG.The alternative site in the Filton area of the city has been proposed by private developer YTL as part of a wider residential focused development.Bristol City Council, together with South Gloucestershire and WECA, will consider the deliverability and affordability of the alternative proposal within the Brabazon Hangar at Filton brought forward by YTL, alongside ongoing work to pursue an arena on the Temple Quarter site.The council has expanded the scope of the KPMG work to examine the comparative value for money of the alternativeYTL proposition, including associated infrastructure costs.
