Shopping centre plans approved to transform Barking town centre
Plans to redevelop Vicarage Field shopping centre in Barking have been given the green light.Barking and Dagenham Council’s planning committee has approved the scheme which will see the revamped retail centre feature around 900 new homes, a state-of-the-art shopping, dining and leisure destination and a ‘field’ with shared communal garden for residents, orchards and play spaces.The development, which also includes a 150 bed hotel, affordable space for start-up businesses, a 650 seat cinema, a gym, a music venue, a three form entry primary school and new healthcare facilities.
