Skegness Gateway Extension Revealed
Plans which will transform Skegness and will see the development of a sustainable urban extension to the west of the town have been revealed.Proposals for the Skegness Gateway, to be the subject of a Local Development Order (LDO) with East Lindsey District Council later this year, show an all-encompassing scheme which will provide hundreds of jobs, a new college, much needed amenities and new homes.The 136-hectare site is to the west of Skegness. The development is being proposed via an LDO in conjunction with East Lindsey District Council, which is expected to be submitted later on this year. The masterplan includes:Around 1,000 new homesSpecialist accommodation for older peopleA tourism offeringA TEC partnership collegeA crematoriumEmployment and commercial landAlong with this, there will also be significant green space and amenities for locals.
