Solar farm proposed in Derbyshire

Plans have been lodged for a proposed solar farm in Derbyshire expected to power thousands of homes.Anesco Ltd is seeking planning approval from Amber Valley Borough Council to build a 19.657MW solar farm on land at north of Alfreton on Meadow Lane.The scheme includes the installation of solar panels with transformers, a substation, a DNO control room, a customer substation, security fencing, landscaping and other associated infrastructure.The array will consist of 36,720 solar panels attached to a fixed ground mounted steel and aluminium racking system.It is anticipated the farm would power approximately ,946 homes and would result in an approximate saving of 4,378 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per annum.The solar farm would be for a temporary period of 40 years, after which the site would be returned to its current condition. It is anticipated that the construction period will take approximately 26 to 28 weeks.
