Springfield gets green light to build 39 affordable homes in Speyside
HOUSEBUILDER Springfield has received planning approval for 39 affordable homes in the village of Aberlour in Speyside.The site spans 4.8 acres and will include one to five-bedroom homes – including bungalows and apartments.Springfield said the properties will be designed to be in keeping with the rural setting of the village. Designs for the development include walking, jogging and cycle routes, a play area for children, and a stone feature wall at the entrance.Tom Leggeat, Springfield MD for affordable housing, said, “It is widely documented that there is a high demand for affordable housing in Speyside and we are pleased our plans for this long-awaited development have been approved to help relieve this. Our homes will bring much needed affordable housing to Aberlour that include innovative technology and quality insulation to ensure the homes are energy efficient and cost effective to run.“We are currently in discussions with a housing provider to deliver this development in partnership with and hope to begin construction early 2024.”
