St Modwen lands approval for commercial scheme
A detailed planning application from St Modwen, which comprises new commercial space and is associated with a mixed-use project to the south of Worcester, has been approved.Reserved matters approval was sought for the development of two employment buildings on land at Taylors Lane in Broomhall.Outline permission was granted in November 2019 for a mixed-use development comprising up to 255 homes and fresh employment facilities. The site is part of the South Worcester strategic urban extension.Reserved matters approval has already been secured for the first two phases of Broomhall Business Park, known as phases E1 and E2.Phases E3 and E4, comprising buildings of approximately 31,000 and 39,000 sq ft, were reviewed by Malvern Hills District Council’s northern planning committee on 7 June.Members voted to approve the scheme, subject to conditions.A separate application from St Modwen for the construction of 130 homes, representing the final phase of residential development, phase H2b, was initially due to be considered but was withdrawn from the agenda.
