Supported living plans voted down

Councillors have voted down plans to demolish a former manor house and create a major supported living development.Wrekin Housing Trust was behind the scheme for Paul Moss House in Whitchurch which was constructed at the end of the 19th century.The application proposed one building with 74 supported living units, a health centre, pharmacy, café and community rooms as well as 85 car parking spaces.Shropshire Council’s planning committee made a final decision at a meeting on Tuesday 25 June.Pauls Moss was built for Edward Philips Thompson; a wealthy Liverpool banker who settled in Whitchurch and became both a significant figure in the community and a major benefactor to the town.
