Taylor Wimpey begins consultation on second phase of new Bilston homes
Taylor Wimpey East Scotland and Hallam Land Management have submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) to Midlothian Council which outlines their intention to submit a planning application for phase two of residential development on land at Seafield Road in Bilston.The housebuilder is preparing to deliver around 250 new homes in a mix of two-bedroom apartments, two and three-bedroom terraced homes, two and three-bedroom semi-detached homes, four-bedroom townhouses and three, four and five-bedroom detached homes of which 25% will be affordable. The land outlined for the proposed development is the balance of the site identified as allocated for housing development in the Local Development Plan.This is the initial stage of the process for this proposed development, and Taylor Wimpey East Scotland will now begin a programme of community engagement which will include a public consultation event from 2pm-8pm on 12 September 2019 at Bilston Miners Welfare and Social Club. Details of this event will be shared again with the local community nearer the time.The public consultation event gives Taylor Wimpey East Scotland and Hallam Land Management an opportunity to share their proposals for the development with members of the public, and to listen to their views as the plans for this key development evolve over the coming months.
