Ten-storey apartment scheme earmarked for Baltic Triangle
Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle is set for more student accommodation with plans being drawn up for a ten-storey scheme on a site which currently houses a disused workshop.Borden Properties is behind an application to demolish the existing workshop on the corner of St James Street and Norfolk Street and replace it with a residential development of 171 apartments. Under the proposals, designed by NS Architects, there would also be a gym and two commercial units. The existing workshop is described as being “beyond economic repair and reuse”.The plans by Borden Properties are the latest earmarked for the Baltic Triangle and come just weeks after Elliot Group applied to build a £70m luxury hotel with 306 bedrooms on Norfolk Street. In addition, Miami is behind a scheme for 156 apartments in 11-storey block on the former Bogan’s Carpets premises. Yu Property was last year also given the go-ahead for more than 200 apartments as part of a £30m project.
