Tetley Brewery redevelopment approved
Leeds City Council has approved the redevelopment of the Tetley brewery site in the city, set to create up to 850 homes, with only final sign off by the chief planning officer now required.Vastint, the international developer behind the regeneration of the former Tetley Brewery site off Hunslet Road, intends to create 850 homes and 915,000 sq ft of space for offices and 161,500 sq ft of space for shops, restaurants, bars and take-aways as well as accommodation for financial and professional service providers.Of the 850 homes, 85 would be studio apartments, 230 would be one-bedroomed, 365 two-bedroomed and 170 three-bedroomed apartments. A total of 5 per cent of the residential units would be affordable housing.Leeds City Council approved the scheme yesterday, ‘deferring and delegating’ sign off to the chief planning officer once some details are resolved.
