Trump’s plan for 550 new homes in Aberdeenshire given permission
Aberdeenshire Council has granted permission in principle to Trump International to build 550 homes close to its Aberdeenshire golf course, after a deal was struck to contribute towards affordable homes in the area. The project would involve community facilities being built and up to 500 of the 550 being sold as private houses. The council noted that the development of further private housing on the site as permanent residential units would not comply with its Local Development Plan policies regarding residential development in this area.It made the decision following the conclusion of discussions around a Section 75 legal agreement. The council added that the golf villas and leisure resort units will only be occupied on a holiday letting or fractional ownership basis and cannot be used as a permanent residential units without further planning permission.
