Two units to be developed with Barnsley Council backing
Two commercial units are set to be developed at Capitol Park in Dodworth as part of the second phase of Barnsley Council’s Property Investment Fund programme (PIF 2).The 23,900 sq ft and 15,000 sq ft units will be built by Marshall Construction at Capitol Park next to Junction 37 of the M1.They are scheduled for completion in September 2018 and will be available to businesses on a freehold or leasehold basis.The original Property Investment Fund, completed in 2016, was created to accommodate expanding businesses and attract new companies to the borough. It supported the creation of 230,000 sq ft of commercial property, which brought £19m of private sector investment to Barnsley.The Sheffield office of global property consultancy Knight Frank is marketing the new development. CBRE and Walker Morris have assisted the council on PIF2.
